The Pittsburgh Penguins are dealing with several injuries ahead of the regular season.
The Penguins announced Sunday that forwards Blake Lizotte, Justin Brazeau and Ben Kindel, along with defenceman Ryan Graves, have been placed on injured reserve.
Lizotte is dealing with an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day. Brazeau and Kindel are both dealing with lower-body injuries and are listed as week-to-week.
Graves is also sidelined with a lower-body injury, but his timeline is less certain as he is considered out indefinitely.
The injuries leave Pittsburgh without several players as the team continues preparing for the start of the regular season. The Penguins will have to manage their roster carefully while waiting for the injured players to return.
Kindel is one of the more notable names among the group after Pittsburgh selected him in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft. The young forward entered training camp looking to earn a spot in the Penguins' lineup.
The Penguins will kick off their regular season when they visit their state rivals against the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.
