Penguins re-sign forward Anthony Angello to two-year contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed restricted free agent forward Anthony Angello to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $725,000.

"We’re really pleased with Anthony’s development," Penguins GM Jim Rutherford said in a team release. "We thought he did well when we brought him up to the NHL and look forward to watching his continued growth as a player."

Angello, 24, appeared in eight games for the Penguins last season, scoring one goal and registering four penalty minutes. The Albany, N.Y., native spent the majority of the campaign with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, recording 16 goals and 25 points to along with 55 PIMs in 48 games.

Angello was selected in the fifth round, 145th overall, by the Penguins in the 2014 draft.
