The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed forward Jonathan Gruden to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000, the team announced Friday.
Gruden, 23, made his NHL debut in 2022-23, appearing in three games with the Penguins. In 54 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL he scored 16 goals and 31 points.
A fourth-round pick (95th overall) of the Ottawa Senators in 2018, Gruden was dealt to Pittsburgh as part of the Matt Murray trade in 2020.
His father, John Gruden, was recently appointed head coach of the Toronto Marlies.
