The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Brian Boyle and defenceman Matt Bartkowski to professional tryout contracts.
Boyle and Bartkowski will be attending Pittsburgh’s training camp which opens in September.
In 39 games last season with the Florida Panthers, Boyle had six goals and 15 points while adding one goal in four playoff games.
The 36-year-old has spent more than 12 seasons in the NHL with the Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers. Boyle was originally drafted 26th overall in the 2003 NHL Draft by the Kings.
Bartkowski spent the 2020-21 season with the Minnesota Wild, appearing in one game while also playing 23 games in the AHL with Iowa where he recorded eight points. Bartkowski has played parts of 11 seasons in the NHL with the Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames and Minnesota.
