The Pittsburgh Penguins have added some depth to their back end.
Parker Wotherspoon has joined the Penguins on a two-year, $2 million contract worth $1 million in average annual value, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Tuesday.
Wotherspoon, 27, suited up for a career-high 55 games with the Boston Bruins last season. He finished with one goal and six assists while averaging 18:02 per night.
The Surrey, B.C. native has one goal and 15 assists in 108 career games in the NHL, split between the Bruins and New York Islanders.
Originally selected by the Islanders 112th overall in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Draft, Wotherspooed spent the majority of his first seven seasons in the American Hockey League.
