The Pittsburgh Penguins are starting to build up their draft war chest.
The Penguins have traded goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a third-round pick in 2028, the team announced Tuesday.
After the move, the Penguins now have 28 picks over the course of the next three drafts.
Nedeljkovic, 29, suited up for 38 games with the Penguins last season, putting up a 3.12 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage.
He has spent the last two seasons in Pittsburgh after joining the team as a free agent in 2023.

In 179 appearances at the NHL level over eight seasons in the league split between the Hurricanes, Penguins and Detroit Red Wings, Nedeljkovic has a 3.00 GAA and a .903 save percentage.
