The Nashville Predators traded back into the first round and selected left winger Zachary L'Heureux with the 27th pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

To select L'Heureux, the Predators traded picks No. 40 and No. 51 to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Halifax Mooseheads product has been compared to Bruins star Brad Marchand for the way he plays on the edge. While he was suspended multiple times this season, L'Heureux had 19 goals and 39 points in 33 games with 47 penalty minutes.

Earlier in the night, the Predators selected Russian centre Fedor Svechkov 19th overall.
