The Nashville Predators have signed forward Nick Cousins to a two-year deal with an average annual value of $1.5 million, the team announced Saturday.
"Nick is a versatile forward who can play up-and-down our lineup and will help add a physical element to our game every night," Predators general manager David Poile said in a team statement. "He's a reliable player in his own zone and has shown improvement offensively every year. He fits the mold of the type of player we were targeting during free agency."
Cousins, 27, spent last season with the Vegas Golden Knights and Montreal Canadiens, finishing in Las Vegas after being acquired at the trade deadline for a 2021 fourth-round pick.
The Belleville, Ont., native played in seven regular-season games with the Golden Knights before the campaign was brought to a halt on March 12 by COVID-19. Cousins then skated in 17 post-season games for Vegas in the Edmonton bubble, recording five points.
A third-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2011, Cousins has 41 goals, 98 points and 138 penalty minutes in 324 career regular-season games with the Flyers, Arizona Coyotes, Canadiens and Golden Knights.
