Carey Price will not be joining the Montreal Canadiens in Toronto after all.
The star goalie was expected to travel to Toronto as the Canadiens face the Maple Leafs in back-to-back games on Thursday and Saturday, but head coach Dominique Ducharme told reporters Price will be staying in La belle province, though “there’s nothing negative.”
Ducharme explained that the Canadiens had been planning to hold a full practice Friday that’s since been cancelled, so it made sense for the 33-year-old to continue to work on his game at the team’s facility in Brossard, Que.
Price has been out since suffering a concussion in a game against the Edmonton Oilers on April 19.
Price has a 12-7-5 record this season with a .901 save percentage. After the two games against the Maple Leafs, the Canadiens close the regular season with two home games against the Edmonton Oilers.
