The New York Rangers will be without their MVP for a Sunday night game against the St. Louis Blues.
Forward Artemi Panarin will miss the game with an upper-body injury, the Rangers said as teams took the ice for warmups.
It's unclear how Panarin was injured but he is considered day-to-day.
The 33-year-old leads the Rangers in goals (15) and points (36) this season.
The Rangers have just two wins so far in December and dropped out of a playoff spot after Saturday's games.
Meanwhile, forward Kaapo Kakko was reportedly slated to be a healthy scratch.
Kakko, the second overall pick in 2019, has four goals and 10 assists in 29 games this season.
