The New York Rangers are re-upping with defenceman Chad Ruhwedel after trading for him last season.
The team announced that they would be signing the 34-year-old to a one-year deal. The financial terms of the contract were not reported or included in the team's announcement.
Ruhwedel was dealt to the Rangers from the Pittsburgh Penguins at the trade deadline for a 2027 fourth-round pick.
In 52 regular season games split between the Penguins and Rangers last season, the San Diego, Calif., native had one goal and three assists. He also had 90 hits and 44 blocked shots.
The 12-year NHL vet has tallied 13 goals and 36 assists in 374 career games.
