After an excellent junior career, Cole Beaudoin is about to get a shot in the NHL.
The 20-year-old forward has been recalled by the New York Rangers from AHL Hartford, the NHL club announced Tuesday.
The Rangers acquired the two-time member of Canada's world junior team in the Vincent Trocheck trade with the Utah Mammoth in July.
Beaudoin led the Barrie Colts to the OHL final last season, but missed the championship-series loss to the Kitchener Rangers with an injury.
He had one goal and four assists in his first two AHL games.
The Ottawa native, selected 24th overall by Utah in the 2024 draft, will play fourth-line centre on Tuesday against the visiting New York Islanders, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reported.
In a corresponding move, the Rangers assigned forward Matthew Robertson to Hartford after he cleared waivers.
