The New York Rangers have locked up their new star forward for the foreseeable future.
New York signed Pavel Dorofeyev to a seven-year, $77-million contract, the team announced on Tuesday.
The Rangers acquired the 25-year-old on Friday from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for the 26th- and 92nd-overall picks in the 2026 draft and a top-10 protected first-round pick in 2028.
Dorofeyev, 25, is coming off a breakout year with the Golden Knights in which he put up career highs in goals (37), assists (27) and points (64).
In 22 playoff games, the Russian stayed hot, with 12 goals and four assists.
Selected in the third round of the 2019 draft by the Golden Knights, Dorofeyev has now posted 72 goals over his last two seasons, playing all 82 games each time.
Over 231 career games, he has 92 goals and 57 assists.
