New York Rangers defenceman Jacob Trouba will not return to Wednesday night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning after suffering an upper-body injury from a hit by Corey Perry.
The 29-year-old appeared to hit his face on the ice after his legs awkwardly came out from under him after taking the hit.
Trouba has scored eight goals and 30 points in 77 games this season for the Rangers.
Head coach Gerard Gallant provided an update to the media post-game, saying Trouba would be day-to-day and he would travel with the team to St. Louis.
After Wednesday, New York has four games remaining in the regular season before the NHL playoffs.
