The formula is weighted based on goals, assists, plus/minus, power play points, shots on goal and penalty minutes for skaters and wins, goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts for goaltenders. Additionally, line deployment and contractual status are two other major factors that are taken into consideration when compiling this list.
