Ben Chiarot has found himself in some trouble.
The Detroit Red Wings defenceman has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for butt-ending New Jersey Devils defender Simon Nemec.
The incident occurred during a scrum late in the third period of the Devils' 4-3 victory over the Red Wings on Monday.
Chiarot was not issued a penalty for the play during the contest, while Nemec momentarily left for the dressing room in discomfort.
Detroit returns to action Wednesday against the Nashville Predators.
