The Detroit Red Wings have signed veteran forward Bobby Ryan to a professional tryout.
Ryan had seven goals and seven assists in 33 games with the Red Wings last season after signing a one-year, $1 million deal. The 34-year-old joined Detroit after getting the final two years of his seven-year, $50.75 million contract bought out by the Ottawa Senators.
The Anaheim Ducks selected Ryan with the second overall pick in the 2005 NHL Draft. He has 261 goals and 569 points in 866 career NHL games and won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, given to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey, in 2020.
