The Detroit Red Wings are in wait-and-see mode with their captain.
Dylan Larkin suffered a non-contact injury in the Red Wings' game against the Florida Panthers on Friday.
It occurred in the third period after his leg bent awkwardly while taking a shot on the Panthers' net, with Larkin subsequently appearing to be in pain and needing to be helped to the locker room.
After the game, which the Red Wings lost 3-1, head coach Todd McLellan told reporters he doesn't think Larkin will be out long-term but that he needs to be further examined.
Larkin, who recently won a gold medal at the Winter Olympics with Team USA, has 55 points (28 goals and 27 assists) in 63 games this season.
The Red Wings begin a four-game road trip on Sunday against the New Jersey Devils. Detroit currently sits in third place in the Atlantic Division.
