The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenceman Brogan Rafferty to a two-year, two-way contract on Saturday.
Rafferty was with the Seattle Kraken organization this past season and helped their AHL affiliate Coachella Valley Firebirds reach the Calder Cup Finals.
He recorded 51 points (nine goals and 42 assists) in 72 games during the regular season plus 11 points (two goals and nine assists) in 26 playoff games as the Firebirds fell to the Hershey Bears in overtime of Game 7 of the championship series.
The 28-year-old from West Dundee, Ill., signed as a free agent with the Vancouver Canucks in 2019 following three seasons with Quinnipiac University. He registered one assist in three games over two years with the Canucks.
