The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Adam Erne to a one-year contract extension, the team announced.

Erne recorded five points in 56 games in 2019-20 before having his season cut short with a lower-body injury. Detroit acquired the 25-year-old from the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2019 for a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

The New Haven, Conn., native was originally selected in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft.
