Hirose played in 36 games with Detroit this past season, scoring two goals and seven points. The Calgary native also had 27 points in 35 games with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins.
The 24-year-old was signed as an undrafted free agent last season and tied Adam Larkin’s franchise record with an assist in five straight games.
