The Detroit Red Wings have signed one of their goaltending prospects.
Trey Augustine agreed to a three-year, entry-level deal set to begin next season, the club announced Tuesday.
The Red Wings also announced that Augustine will report to their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, on an amateur tryout for the remainder of this season.
The 21-year-old appeared in 34 regular-season games in 2025-26 for Michigan State University in the NCAA, posting a 24-9-1 record, three shutouts, a 2.11 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.
He was named Big Ten Goaltender of the Year for the second straight season and earned a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team.
