Red Wings sign restricted free agent Filip Hronek to three-year contract

The Detroit Red Wings have signed Filip Hronek, who was a restricted free agent, to a three year contract, the team announced Friday.

The deal, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, carries an average annual value of $4.4 million.

A former second-round pick by Detroit in 2016, Hronek appeared in 56 games last season with the Red Wings, leading the team in points with 26 (two goals and 24 assists) as well as average time on ice (23:23).

In 167 games, all with Detroit, the 23-year-old has 16 goals and 64 assists.
