The Detroit Red Wings have signed Zach Aston-Reese to a one-year, two way contract, the club announced Sunday. The terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The former Toronto Maple Leaf was signed to a professional try-out with the Carolina Hurricanes, but was released Friday.
Aston-Reese, 29, has a total of 80 points in 307 NHL games across the Maple Leafs, Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins. In the 2022-23 season with Toronto, Aston Reese scored a career-high 10 goals, totalling 14 points.
Aston-Reese, an undrafted free agent out of Northeastern, made his NHL debut in February of 2018.
