Avalanche acquire goaltender Darcy Kuemper from Coyotes

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired goaltender Darcy Kuemper from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a first-round pick in 2022, a conditional 2024 third-round selection and defenceman Conor Timmins.

According to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, the Coyotes are retaining $1 million of the netminder's $4.5-million cap hit.

Kuemper, 31, posted a 10-11-3 record with a 2.56 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage this past season with the Coyotes.
