The St. Louis Blues will expose forward Vladimir Tarasenko in the expansion draft and protect forward Ivan Barbashev, according to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff.com.

Tarasenko had reportedly requested a trade from the Blues earlier this month, in part due to the handling of previous shoulder surgeries in 2018 and 2019. He has two years remaining on his eight-year, $60-million contract which includes a full no-trade clause.

Over the last few years, the winger has struggled with a shoulder injury that has required three surgeries and was limited to just 10 games during the 2019-20 season. He only played in 24 games in the 2020-21 season as a result.

The 29-year-old has recorded 218 goals and 442 points in 531 career games with the Blues.
