As the Vancouver Canucks continue their search for a new general manager, new names are starting to emerge as candidates.
The team conducted an interview with Florida Panthers assistant general manager Brett Peterson, per a report by Thomas Drance of The Athletic on Wednesday.
Peterson was hired by the Panthers in 2020 and won back-to-back Stanley Cups as a member of their management group in 2024 and 2025.
The Athletic also reported that the Canucks have begun to inform some candidates that they will not be moving forward in the process, though the team denies having narrowed down a short list.
Peterson joins a list of reported candidates that includes Toronto Maple Leafs AGM Shane Doan, Abbotsford Canucks GM Ryan Johnson and Patrick Burke of the NHL's department of player safety, as reported by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman Wednesday.
Former Buffalo GM Kevyn Adams and former Leafs GM Brad Treliving have also been linked to the Canucks' search.
The Canucks fired GM Patrik Allvin, who had held the position for five years, on April 17 after the team finished last in the NHL.
