One of the this year's biggest name unrestricted free agents will hit the open market on July 1st.
Boston Bruins forward Tyler Bertuzzi, acquired at the trade deadline from the Detroit Red Wings amidst a string of all-in moves by Boston, is not expected to re-sign with the club before free agency begins later this week.
Bertuzzi's impending exodus, at least temporarily, is emblematic of what is expected to be a recurring theme in Beantown this summer.
The club already sent forward Taylor Hall to the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this week in a cap related move, and are currently awaiting the futures of longtime franchise staples Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. Fellow trade deadline pick up Dmitry Orlov is also a pending unrestricted free agent.
The 28-year-old recorded eight goals and 30 points in 50 games this year despite missing time with a hand injury.
