Report: Kraken to select Maple Leafs' Jared McCann in expansion draft

Hockey Central reacts to the leaked news that the Seattle Kraken will select Jared McCann from the Maple Leafs, making his tenure in Toronto a very short one, and why this isn't such a bad thing for Dubas and the Leafs.

Jared McCann's run as a Toronto Maple Leaf appears to have come to an end after four days.

According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Seattle Kraken will be selecting the 25-year-old forward from the Maple Leafs in Wednesday night's expansion draft.

McCann was acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday in exchange forward Filip Hallander and a seventh-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

McCann scored 14 goals and recorded 32 points in 43 games last season with the Penguins.
