The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Anton Wahlberg to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.
Wahlberg, 18, was selected by the Sabres in the second round (39th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. He is the first player from the team's 2023 draft class to sign his entry-level deal.
Wahlberg spent the 2022-23 season split between the Malmo Redhawks' J20 team and their professional team in the SHL. He recorded 27 points (14 goals and 13 assists) in 32 games with the J20 team and four points (two goals and two assists) in 17 games with the professional team.
