The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Tobias Rieder to a one-year, $700,000 deal.
Rieder appeared in 55 games with the Calgary Flames in 2019-20, scoring four goals and 10 points. In 10 playoff games for the Flames, the 27-year-old had five points.
The Landshut, Germany native was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.
