The Buffalo Sabres have signed centre Konsta Helenius to a three-year, entry-level deal, the club announced Monday.
The 18-year-old was the 14th overall pick at the 2024 NHL Draft in June.
From Ylojarvi, Finland, Helenius spent the 2023-24 season with Jukurit in Liiga, recording 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points in 51 games. His 36 points marked the fourth-highest single-season total by an under-18 player in Liiga history, trailing current NHL forwards Aleksander Barkov, Mikael Granlund and Kaapo Kakko.
Helenius also appeared in four games with Finland at the IIHF World Championship in May, where he was the youngest player in the tournament.
