The Buffalo Sabres are adding centreman Cody Eakin on a two-year deal, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.
Eakin's deal carries a $2.25-million cap hit, per Friedman, a step down from his last contract's $3.85-million average.
Eakin is coming off a 2019-20 campaign split between the Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets, wherein he posted a combined 15 points through 49 games.
One year prior, Eakin put up a career-best 22-goal, 41-point effort. The 29-year-old spent five years in Dallas and one year in Washington before his run through Vegas and Winnipeg.
