The Seattle Kraken have named Alexandra Mandrycky to assistant general manager, the team announced Wednesday.

Mandrycky will work alongside Ricky Olczyk and Jason Botterill, the Kraken's fellow assistant general managers, under general manager Ron Francis.

“Alex has earned this promotion through her hard work and dedication to making the Kraken a better organization,” said Kraken general manager Ron Francis in a statement. “Her knowledge and effort are assets that will continue to serve her well in this role.”

Mandrycky will oversee the amateur scouting group, be part of the key management group and continue to lead the team’s research and development group. She becomes the first woman in franchise history to hold the title, and sixth active female assistant general manager in the NHL.

Mandrycky spent four seasons working as an analyst for the Minnesota Wild prior to joining the Kraken.

Madrycky becomes the sixth NHL female assistant GM hired this year and the seventh in history.
