The Seattle Kraken have signed left-handed defenceman, Nikolas Brouillard to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Monday. The deal carries a cap hit of $775,000 for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
The 29-year-old out of St.Hilaire, Que., spent 2023-2024 playing for the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL, the minor league affiliate to the New York Rangers, where he recorded five goals and 31 assists over 70 games. The blueliner has tallied 128 points across 238 career AHL games.
The five-foot-11 Brouillard has also entered enforcer territory over his the past few seasons in the AHL. Over his last three, he is averaging 129 penalty minutes per season while playing, on average, just shy of 70 games.
Prior to turning pro, Brouillard played three seasons with McGill University from 2017 to 2020 and helped lead the team to the Queen's Cup league championship in 2018.
