The Ottawa Senators are investing heavily in their blue line so far this off-season.
The Senators have acquired right-shot defenceman Jordan Spence from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick (67th overall) and a 2026 sixth-round pick, the teams announced Saturday.
Spence had a career-best season last year, tallying four goals and 24 assists in 79 games while finishing plus-23. He logged 16:47 of average time on ice.
The Manly, Australia native was drafted by the Kings 95th overall in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Draft and made his debut in the 2021-22 season.
Over 180 career games at the NHL level, Spence has picked up eight goals and 53 assists.
In addition to acquiring Spence, the Senators used their first-round pick, 23rd overall, on American blue-liner Logan Hensler.
