Andre Burakovsky is set for his Ottawa Senators debut.
The team activated Burakovsky off injured reserve ahead of its game against the Nashville Predators on Rogers Saturday Night Hockey (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT), head coach Travis Green told reporters.
Burakovsky, who was acquired by the Senators in an off-season trade with the Chicago Blackhawks, has been sidelined with an upper-body injury suffered in Ottawa's final pre-season game.
To make room for Burakovsky on the active roster, the Senators placed forward William Eklund on IR. Eklund was ruled out for an "extended" period of time Friday due to an ankle injury.
Based on line rushes at morning skate, Burakovsky is set to play left wing alongside Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson.
Burakovsky, 31, had 11 goals and 33 points for the Blackhawks last season.
In 771 career regular-season games with the Blackhawks, Seattle Kraken, Colorado Avalanche and Washington Capitals, the Swede has amassed 164 goals and 420 points.
