Brady Tkachuk will have to pay for some reckless behaviour on Thursday night.
The Ottawa Senators captain has been fined $2,500 for unsportsmanlike conduct in Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Sabres, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced on Friday.
The incident occurred in the first period when Tkachuk slashed Sabres' Beck Malenstyn in the face with the end of his stick while he was on the Senators' bench.
Tkachuk was assessed a minor penalty for the incident.
He had an assist and served seven penalty minutes in the Senators 4-1 victory.
