The Ottawa Senators' forward depth has taken a hit for the next few weeks.
Forwards Andre Burakovsky and Warren Foegele are set to miss the next three to four weeks with injuries, head coach Travis Green said before Ottawa's showdown against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
Burakovsky suffered a lower-body injury in Friday's game against the Los Angeles Kings. It's unclear how he got hurt, but he logged 4:54 of ice time before being ruled out midway through the second period.
The 13-year NHL vet is in his first season with the Senators and has made eight appearances without recording a point. Burakovsky owns a minus-two rating through 88:03 of ice time, with four blocks and three hits in that span.
Foegele, meanwhile, was placed on the injured list Friday with a knee injury. He was hurt in Tuesday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights after a knee-on-knee collision with Jeremy Lauzon in the third period.
The 30-year-old has had a steady start to his first full season with the Senators after being acquired from the Los Angeles Kings at last year's trade deadline. He has one goal and three assists in 13 games, averaging 12:04 of ice time per night.
