The Ottawa Senators could be without one of their top defenceman for some time.
Thomas Chabot headed to the Senators' locker room ahead of puck drop for the second period, and the team announced shortly afterwards that he was ruled out due to an upper-body injury.
After the game, which the Senators lost 3-2, head coach Travis Green told reporters that Chabot injured himself while reaching for the puck and that there is no immediate update on his condition.
The 28-year-old entered Tuesday's matchup with two goals and eight assists in 16 games this season.
The Senators (8-5-4) currently sit third in the Atlantic Division.
