Senators' Connor Brown 'week-to-week' after cracking jaw in warmups Thursday

Senators head coach D.J. Smith reveals that Connor Brown will be week-to-week, after taking a puck in warmups before their game with the Flames, and it later being diagnosed a broken jaw, says others will have to step up to fill the large void.

On Thursday night, Connor Brown produced a goal and an assist to help the Ottawa Senators defeat the Calgary Flames, and addressed the media after the game. All with a cracked jaw?

Speaking to the media on Friday, head coach DJ Smith said that Brown took a puck to the face during warmup on Thursday, which they didn't think was that bad. Turns out, his jaw is broken and Smith says he'll be out "week-to-week."

"(Brown) took a puck in warmup, didn't think it was that bad, and ends up being what looks like a broken jaw at this point, a cracked jaw," said Smith. "That's a huge loss for us."

Brown caught fire with the Senators last season, scoring 21 goals in 56 games. So far this season he only has five goals, but with 14 assists has produced a solid 19 points in 26 games.
