Lars Eller seems to have caught another tough break.
The Ottawa Senators forward was ruled out of their matchup with a lower-body injury to start the third period against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, the team announced.
Eller had drawn back into the lineup Tuesday during their 4-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils, after missing two games with an undisclosed injury.
The 36-year-old blocked a shot from Blue Jackets defenceman Zach Werenski in the second period and appeared to be discomfort after the play.
Eller has appeared in 27 games with Ottawa this season registering two goals with four assists for a minus-6 rating.
The 17-year NHL veteran inked a one-year, $1.25-million contract with the Senators on July 1, after spending one season with the Washington Capitals where he put up six goals and nine assists in 63 games.
The 13th overall pick by the St. Louis Blues in 2007, Eller has appeared in 1,143 career games, scoring 190 goals with 240 assists with six NHL teams.
