The Ottawa Senators once again lost their starting netminder to an injury on Wednesday against the Florida Panthers.
Linus Ullmark had to be helped off by a trainer and teammate Claude Giroux after staying down on the ice following a third-period save.
The stop came on a shot off the rush from former Senators captain Brady Tkachuk. But as the rebound went to an Ottawa defenceman and down to the Florida end, Ullmark hunched over in pain as officials blew the play dead.
After the game, head coach Travis Green told reporters that Ullmark left with a lower-body strain and will be further evaluated on Thursday.
As the Senators goalie was tended to in his crease, a scrum broke out in front of the Ottawa bench while the home fans continued their game-long chant of "Brady sucks" and threw Tkachuk jerseys on the ice.
Ullmark had stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced before exiting.
Backup Samuel Ersson took over in relief.
This is the second time this month that the 33-year-old wasn't able to finish a start after leaving early against the Boston Bruins on Oct. 5. Senators head coach Travis Green said Ullmark "tweaked something a little bit" in that outing against Boston.
Ullmark entered Wednesday's game with a 6-1-0 record on the season with a 1.33 goals-against average and .945 save percentage.
