Linus Ullmark is one step closer to game action.
The Ottawa Senators goalie will serve as backup on Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights, the team said.
Mads Sogaard is set to start in net as the Senators look to avoid a third straight loss.
Ullmark returned to the ice with the Senators earlier in January after leaving the team on Dec. 29 for personal reasons.
The Swedish netminder has a 14-8-5 record with an .881 save percentage and 2.95 goals-against average on the season.
Sogaard, 25, will be making just his second appearance of the season. He allowed five goals in a relief appearance against the Colorado Avalanche on Jan. 8.
After taking on the Golden Knights on Sunday, the Senators are back in action Wednesday at home against Colorado.
