The Ottawa Senators have found a new alternate captain. Claude Giroux has been named part of the Sens' leadership group, alongside fellow alternate captain Thomas Chabot and team captain Brady Tkachuk.

Before he was traded at the deadline last season, the Hearst, Ont. native had been the 19th captain in Philadelphia Flyers history since 2013.

Giroux returned home on July 13 when he put pen to paper on a three-year, $19.5 million deal with the Sens.
