The Ottawa Senators have recalled defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker from AHL Belleville, the team announced Sunday.
Bernard-Docker, a 22-year-old rookie, has played nine games in the NHL this season, producing one assist from the blue line.
The move comes after the Senators suffered back-to-back blowout losses to the Seattle Kraken (8-4) and Colorado Avalanche (7-0).
"It's embarrassing," Ottawa captain Brady Tkachuk told reporters Saturday after the loss to Colorado. "We can't keep doing this.
"I'm at a loss for words right now."
Ottawa also lost top defenceman Artem Zub to a lower-body injury during the game, his timeline for a return is not yet clear.
The Senators selected Bernard-Docker 26th overall back in 2018. The Canmore, Alta., native has played 22 NHL games over the last three seasons.
