The Ottawa Senators' best defenceman will be out for Game 4.
After a hit to the head forced him to leave the game on Thursday, Jake Sanderson will miss even more time with a concussion, head coach Travis Green told reporters on Friday. Green also said the defenceman is "not doing well."
Sanderson suffered the injury in the second period after he was hit high by Carolina Hurricanes forward Taylor Hall, Green confirmed after the game. Sanderson remained in the game briefly, but eventually headed down the tunnel. He was officially ruled out for the remainder of the game in the third period.
As he was on Thursday night, Green is still "shocked" on Friday morning that there is no supplemental discipline for the hit on Sanderson.
Sanderson has two assists this series, both coming in Game 2.
In 67 regular-season games for Ottawa, the fourth-year blue-liner had a career-high 14 goals alongside 40 assists.
Artem Zub, who exited with an injury in Game 1, will also be unavailable for Saturday, Green announced.
The Senators trail the best-of-seven series 3-0. Game 4 is Saturday afternoon (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 3 p.m. ET / noon PT) in Ottawa.
