The Ottawa Senators will be without their top defenceman for the next bit.
Head coach Travis Green told reporters Monday that Jake Sanderson is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Sanderson, 23, suffered the injury late in the second period of Saturday's game against the Seattle Kraken after taking a big hit from Brandon Montour.
He immediately left for the locker room, favouring his right shoulder, and did not return to finish the game.
Sanderson has 11 goals and 37 assists in 62 games this season and recently won a gold medal at the Winter Olympics with Team USA.
The Senators next play on Monday night against the Vancouver Canucks.
With 71 points, they enter the contest two positions out of a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, and sitting sixth in the Atlantic Division.
