The Ottawa Senators are sitting forward Tyler Motte on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues for trade-related reasons, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Motte has nine points in 38 games this season.
The 27-year-old signed a one-year, $1.3 million deal with Ottawa.
If Motte does get moved before the deadline if will be the second straight season the winger would be dealt after being acquired by the New York Rangers from the Vancouver Canucks.
The Senators also recalled defenceman Dillon Heatherington from the Belleville Senators. The 27-year-old has gone pointless in three NHL games this season while recording eight points in 39 AHL games.
