The Ottawa Senators have signed free agent forward Micheal Haley to a one-year, two-way contract. The contract will pay Haley $700,000 at the NHL level and $200,000 in the AHL.

Haley, 34, joins the Senators from the New York Rangers, where he appeared in 22 NHL games last season. Across 270 career NHL games with the Rangers, New York Islanders, San Jose Sharks and Florida Panthers, Haley has collected 32 points and 687 penalty minutes.

"Micheal will bring experience, leadership and additional physicality to our organization," said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion in a statement. "He's looking forward to serving as a mentor for our young players."
